St. Augustine 55, Ridgeview 0.

Two county teams shut somebody out in week eight and both did it by more than six touchdowns. Those are the two widest margins on the county board. The next one is the twenty-four Mandarin put on Ponte Vedra, and the widest by a county team after the two shutouts is Tocoi Creek’s twenty-one. The seven scores all of it comes out of are below.

Seven games had a county team in them. Five county wins.

Here they are, visitor first, records as the scoreboard carries them.

St. Augustine (7-0) 55, Ridgeview (1-6) 0. Panther Stadium, Ridgeview’s and not the one Nease plays in. The same board ranks St. Augustine tenth in the state.

Atlantic Coast (0-7) 0, Creekside (5-2) 46, at Creekside High School Stadium.

Bartram Trail (6-1) 33, Beachside (3-3) 26. Barracuda Stadium. The only all-county game on the card.

Nease (4-3) 31, Fletcher (4-3) 27. Jack Taylor Stadium. Four points, and both teams came out of it at 4-3.

Tocoi Creek (2-5) 27, First Coast (1-6) 6, at Buccaneer Field.

Mandarin (6-1) 34, Ponte Vedra (2-5) 10, at the Shark Tank.

Palatka (3-4) 12, Menendez (3-4) 0, at Veterans Stadium.

Two of those are still dated Thursday.

On Friday this paper reported that the scoreboard had Atlantic Coast at Creekside marked final, 46 to 0, before the listed kickoff, and had Bartram Trail at Beachside stopped in the third quarter under the words STATUS UNKNOWN.

Both are settled now. Creekside’s score did not move off 46-0. Beachside had 19 when the page froze and finished with 26, and Bartram Trail went from 0 to 33.

The dates did not settle. The scoreboard still carries both games as Oct. 8. Creekside, Beachside and Bartram Trail all still carry them on their own athletic calendars as Oct. 9 at seven o’clock, and none of the three has changed it since Friday. MaxPreps dates the Beachside game Thursday and the Creekside game Friday, so the two outside outlets do not agree with each other either.

Nothing this paper can reach says which day the ball was kicked.

The Tattler was not at any of these games. Every score, record, venue and ranking above is off FloridaHSFootball.com’s week 8 scoreboard.
