Start here. Monroeville Band, Colonial Oak Music Park, 21 St George Street. Seven to ten.

The venue’s own listing says FREE show in capitals and puts the time right on it, 7-10 PM. All ages. Friendly pups welcome, which is their phrase.

It is banjos and drums. Matt Munsey leads it, and the listing calls him Grammy-nominated.

No cover on the page, and no drink prices either. Go at seven.

the morning is the thing nobody tells you about

Two free things open at 8:30 and both of them are worth the alarm.

The market runs under the oaks at the Amp, 8:30 to 12:30. Free admission. Third Saturday of the month, so the donation yoga is on, from Yoga Collective and Anastasia Fitness, and so is the donation bike repair at the bike racks, from the Old Beach Bike Riders Association.

No pets at this one.

Bring your own bags, they ask.

Parking is the real cost at the Amp and always has been. The market’s own page says the lot is limited and tells you to park at R.B. Hunt and walk. Do that.

Then the other 8:30. The county has a shredding truck at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, 101 Library Blvd, 8:30 to 12:30, and it will destroy your old bank statements for nothing.

Residents only. Paper, colored paper, staples and paper clips, file folders, file hangers. No three-ring binders, no cardboard, nothing from a business.

They will also take household lithium-ion batteries, which is the part to actually pay attention to. Phone batteries, laptop batteries, tablet batteries. The drawer in your kitchen with four of them in it. The county calls them specialized materials, and this is the Saturday they go away free.

what the sky is doing

Showers between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., mostly cloudy, high near 75 and falling to around 70 by afternoon.

Northwest wind 9 to 28 with gusts to 32. Thirty percent chance, less than a tenth of an inch.

So it is a wind day more than a rain day, and an outdoor market in a 32 mph gust is a market where things blow off tables. Early is better.

By Saturday night it is a north wind around 30 with gusts to 37, and a low of 65.

the ticketed ones

Alabama at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, 1340C A1A South. Event starts 7:30 PM. Doors are not on the listing.

No price on the page. The box office is open 8 to 3 on a Saturday if you want to ask a person.

Molly Hatchet with Red Magnolia, Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, 8:00 PM. No price on that page either.

the strange one, and it is cars

The St. Augustine Cruisers hold their cruise-in on the third Saturday, which is today, at the Classic Car Museum on 4730 Dixie Highway. Five to seven.

Music and a 50/50 drawing, per the club. The page prints no admission price, so turning up is the only way to find out.

two more and then the festival

Flagler men’s soccer takes Middle Georgia at Saints Field, 4 p.m., and the schedule marks it senior day. Flagler beat the same side 2-1 in Cochran on Sept. 30. No price on the schedule.

Prohibition Kitchen on St. George Street runs two sets. Dr Nue Jazz Ensemble, six to nine. Pili Pili, ten to midnight.

The one everybody ends up at anyway is the Greek Festival, eleven to eight at Holy Trinity on County Road 214. Nothing at the gate, nothing for the parking over at R J Murray, and an STA shuttle both ways.

Eight o’clock is closing, not last call.

The prices ran in this paper yesterday.

No dogs there. Service animals with their person, and that is the whole exception.
