Doors at 11 p.m. Show at 11:30. It ends at 2.

That is the whole shape of the thing, and it is free, and it happens inside a roller rink at 201 Anastasia Boulevard.

Sing Out Loud is running three late-night after-parties at Ponce De Le Rollin’ on Sept. 25, 26 and 27, timed to start after the big show at the Amp lets out. The festival’s own event page calls it a new series and says all three nights are free and open to all ages. It also carries a footnote, which the Amp repeats on its own Record Fair page, saying there will be no roller skating during the after-parties. Read that part before you bring your skates.

Here is what the festival has posted for each night.

Friday, Sept. 25

Flipturn plays the Amp at 8 p.m. with Winyah opening. When that ends, the after-party takes over: Armadillo Operator and Pocket Knife Dance Party, both local, doors at 11, set from 11:30 to 2 a.m.

Saturday, Sept. 26

The Amp has Rise Against at 7 p.m. with Alkaline Trio and Teen Mortgage. Afterward at the rink, per the festival listing, a Northeast Florida Cure cover band billed as The Smiths (Robert), plus a DJ set from Alkaline Trio’s Dan Andriano. Doors at 11, 11:30 to 2 a.m. again.

A member of the band you just watched, DJing a roller rink three hours later, for nothing. That does not happen in a town with a bigger music economy. It happens here because the room is small and somebody asked.

Sunday, Sept. 27

Earlier and softer. The St. Augustine Record Fair runs at the Amp from 11 a.m., also free, also all ages, with dozens of vendors, screen printing and food trucks. That night the rink has a DJ set from Sasha Bloom, a solo acoustic set from local artist Teresa Rose, and Brooklyn indie rock band Slippers headlining. Doors 7:30, show 8 to 10.

The festival credits the St. Johns Cultural Council and the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council as presenting partners on the series. Both names are on the Record Fair listing and the Sarbez! listing too. Whoever is deciding what gets underwritten this September is deciding in favor of the free stuff.

The other free one, and it is the one to circle

Saturday the 26th, before all of that, Jejune plays Sarbez! at 115 Anastasia Blvd. with Pohgoh.

Jejune formed at Berklee in 1996, moved to San Diego, put out two records on Big Wheel Recreation and a split with Jimmy Eat World, and broke up in 2000. The festival’s listing says this is the band’s first Florida show in nearly three decades, with all three original members, after a run in Japan and reissues on The Numero Group. Pohgoh is a Florida band whose last two albums were tracked with J. Robbins.

Free. All ages. Same partners.

If you are 22 and you have been told your whole life that the good shows happened before you got here, this is a rebuttal, and it costs nothing.

And if you want the job, not the show

Wednesday, Sept. 23 at Spinster Abbott’s, a free panel called The Indie Advantage: how independent artists distribute, get paid, and hold onto their own work. Happy hour at 6, panel 7 to 8, Q and A until 8:30. The listed panelists are Randall Foster of Symphonic, artist manager Courtney Oertel, and John Ozier of Reservoir Media, moderated by Arlis Albritton of the St. Augustine Songwriters Festival.

It is free and open to the public, but the page says RSVP is required. Not “encouraged.” Required. Do it now, because a free room with three people who actually sign checks is going to fill up with people who are not in a band.
