Five dollars. That is the number nobody tells you until you are standing at the door.

Cafe Eleven, 501 A1A Beach Blvd., puts the same sentence at the bottom of most of its show listings: all ages, under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and a five dollar under-21 fee charged at the door. It appears word for word on 30 of the 51 dated listings on the venue’s own upcoming-events page. That page cuts every description off partway through, so treat 30 as the floor and not the count.

If you are 19 and you already bought a ticket, you are still paying five more dollars than the person ahead of you in line. Bring it in cash and stop being surprised by it.

Fifty-one nights

That is what is on the board between Sept. 18 and Feb. 24: fifty-one dated events at a restaurant on A1A. Touring blues, a stand-up run, tribute bands, three dance nights run by DJs, a trivia night for an animal rescue, and a bingo night the venue itself labels adult content.

Nobody in this county covers that room, and the calendar is not small.

Here is the next three weeks, as the venue lists it. These are the venue’s start times. The promoter lists doors an hour earlier on most of them.

Two of those are worth saying out loud. The Nirvana tribute on the 18th and the Emo Social party on Oct. 3 are the two nights on this list aimed squarely at people who were not alive for either thing the first time, and both are the promoter’s bookings rather than the venue’s standing blues calendar.

The bingo night includes, per the listing, a reserved seat and ten cards so you play all night, and the kitchen is open until 8. The trivia night is a fundraiser for pet rescue and animal welfare groups, with a pet round, and the kitchen closes at 8 on that one too.

Seated show or standing room, and why it decides your night

The venue splits its listings into two kinds, and the words are in the listing if you read to the end.

Seated Show. Twenty-three listings say this. Table seating is reserved for people who bought a Reserved Seat ticket. If you bought general admission you get the open seating area, and the listing says there is no assigned seating in it. Show up early or stand.

Standing Room Show. Five say this, and two more are billed as seated and standing room both. On those, per the listing, food is served until the event begins, and once it begins you can get drinks and desserts only.

Two shows on the whole calendar are billed 18 and up rather than all ages: the Fleetwood Mac tribute Oct. 28 and Carbon Leaf on Jan. 11. Both of those listings still say under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, which is the venue’s own wording and does not read the way “18 and up” usually reads. Nobody will tell you what a ticket costs

I went looking for a price. There isn’t one published.

The venue’s page carries no ticket prices. The promoter’s calendar carries no ticket prices. Every listing points at a Buy Tickets button that hands you off to See Tickets, and the Tattler pulled seven of those event pages Wednesday. Four returned a white-label error and three put us in a waiting-room queue. Not one of them served a number.

What the promoter does publish is the policy, and the policy is genuinely useful:

  • See Tickets is the official vendor. Advance tickets are not sold at any local outlet, and the stated reason is that in-person sales are hard to refund when a show gets cancelled.
  • Unless a show is sold out, tickets are also available at the door in cash. The page says most venues take a card at the door or have an ATM nearby, and to contact the venue if you are unsure.
  • Buying in advance does not let you skip the line. It guarantees you get in.

So the honest answer for a Friday night out there: the cover is whatever it is, the under-21 surcharge is five dollars on top of it, and cash solves both problems at once.

Check both calendars, because neither one is complete

The promoter lists 22 Cafe Eleven bookings, 20 of them inside the same window the venue’s page covers. The venue lists 51 events in that window.

Neither list contains the other. The promoter has a Dec. 19 Matchbox 20 and 3 Doors Down tribute and a Jan. 8 tribute show that the venue’s page does not carry. The venue has Eric Johanson on Dec. 18, Carbon Leaf on Jan. 11 and a two-night Blues Beatles run on Feb. 23 and 24 that the promoter’s page does not carry.

Three of the venue’s listings also disagree with themselves. The Bang A Gong glam dance party is headlined Oct. 10 and dated Sept. 4 in the body text. The Chris Cope comedy night is headlined Dec. 6 and dated Nov. 14 in the body. The Dokken night is headlined Jan. 6, 2026, and dated Jan. 6, 2027, in the body. On all three, the headline date is the one that matches the promoter’s calendar, and the promoter’s calendar is the one selling the ticket.
