St. Augustine 52, Orange Park 8, at H.L. “Foots” Brumley Stadium.

Eight wins, no losses.

The Yellow Jackets are 4-0 in 4A District 4 and MaxPreps has them first in it. They have scored 327 points this season and allowed 77. Home 4-0. Away 4-0.

Creekside is 4-0 in district too.

Creekside is first in 6A District 1, and it got there Friday at Flagler Palm Coast, 28-12, against a team that is also 6-2.

Two county schools lead a district tonight. The other six do not.

The standings underneath them are stranger than the overall records look.

Tocoi Creek is 3-5. All three of those wins are district wins. The Toros are second in 6A District 1.

Beachside is 3-4. None of its three wins is a district win. The Barracudas are sixth in 5A District 2.

Same neighborhood in the win column, opposite ends of a seed.

Beachside has won every game it has played on the road and lost every game it has played at home. 3-1 away. 0-3 at home.

Friday, all seven

Six of the eight county teams won.

That is this paper’s count of the seven games on FloridaHSFootball’s week nine board. It is six and not seven because two county schools played each other.

Records are after Friday, as MaxPreps prints them. Visitor first.

Nease (5-3) 41, Bartram Trail (6-2) 27, at Bear Stadium. District.

Orange Park (2-5) 8, St. Augustine (8-0) 52, at Brumley Stadium. District.

Impact Christian Academy (1-8) 14, Menendez (4-4) 46, at Veterans Stadium. The only one of the seven that was not a district game.

Fletcher (4-4) 31, Ponte Vedra (3-5) 40, at the Shark Tank. District.

Creekside (6-2) 28, Flagler Palm Coast (6-2) 12, at Sal Campanella Memorial Stadium. District.

Atlantic Coast (0-8) 14, Tocoi Creek (3-5) 17, at the Bullpen. District.

Mandarin (7-1) 47, Beachside (3-4) 6, at Barracuda Stadium. District.

Both county losses came in district games.

Atlantic Coast is 0-8.

It lost by three at the Bullpen. The seven margins, smallest first, are 3, 9, 14, 16, 32, 41 and 44, which is subtraction this paper did on the scores above.

Four of them are in one district

Bartram Trail, Beachside, Nease and Ponte Vedra all play in 5A District 2.

Half the county. One district.

MaxPreps has them third, sixth, second and fourth in it.

The sixth one is Beachside, which carries a 3-4 overall record, an 0-4 district record, three wins on the road and none at home, 191 points scored and 185 allowed, and sits behind three county schools that are second, third and fourth in the same district it has not won a game in.

Three of Friday’s seven games were inside that district, including the one two of them played against each other.

Next Friday it happens again.

Ponte Vedra at Nease, 7 p.m., Panther Stadium. That is the field in Ponte Vedra and not the Panther Stadium at Ridgeview in Clay County, where St. Augustine played on Oct. 9.

Oct. 23

All eight play. Nobody in this county is idle.

Beachside at Fletcher, 6:30, Jack Taylor Stadium. First Coast at Creekside, 7. Westside at Menendez, 7, Veterans Stadium. Fleming Island at St. Augustine, 7, Brumley. Sandalwood at Tocoi Creek, 7, the Bullpen. Ponte Vedra at Nease, 7.

Bartram Trail goes to Mandarin, at the Corral. Its own calendar says 6:30 and FloridaHSFootball’s week ten card says 7.

Fleming Island comes to Brumley at 4-3.

Scores reported by FloridaHSFootball.com and by MaxPreps, which agree on all seven. Records, district standings and the home and away splits are the figures MaxPreps prints. Nobody from this paper was at any of these games.
