Mandarin 32, St. Augustine 31. Overtime.
The statewide board tags the card F/OT and MaxPreps marks it Final (OT), and the 9-0 season is a 9-1 season.
Both teams finished 9-1. The Yellow Jackets scored 400 points this fall and gave up 116.
They won 4A District 4 anyway at 5-0, sitting first on the MaxPreps table when the night ended. That was settled before Friday.
One point, in the extra period, at The Corral. That was the whole year’s gap.
Friday, five finals and a blank
Four county teams won. Records are after Friday, as both boards print them. Visitor first. Venue names as FloridaHSFootball.com prints them.
St. Augustine (9-1) 31, Mandarin (9-1) 32, at The Corral. Overtime.
Nease (7-3) 39, Sandalwood (6-4) 0, at Dennis Bartley Field. The county’s only shutout of the night.
Land O Lakes (6-4) 14, Bartram Trail (7-3) 43, at Bear Stadium.
Creekside (8-2) 49, Ponte Vedra (3-7) 18, at Shark Tank. All-county.
Tocoi Creek (3-7) 9, Menendez (6-4) 22, at Veterans Stadium. All-county.
The five margins, smallest first, are 1, 13, 29, 31 and 39. That is subtraction this paper did on the scores above.
The game with no score on it
Westside at Beachside was a 7 o’clock card at Barracuda Stadium, and neither board has a result.
FloridaHSFootball.com prints the card Status Unknown, with no score on either row. MaxPreps says no result has been reported.
The card sits on the week eleven board with a television tag for the NFHS Network, a seven o’clock kickoff, Barracuda Stadium on the venue line, Westside on the top row, and the word Final nowhere on it.
Both boards still print the Barracudas at 5-4, which is the record without Friday in it.
When a result is reported somewhere this paper can read, it runs here, attributed to whoever reported it.
The season is over, and the bracket is not out
No county school’s own calendar carries a fall football game after Oct. 30.
The statewide week twelve board carries no St. Johns County school, and its bye list names one team, IMG Academy National.
The cards stacked around the county games on Friday’s own board already carry playoff names from other associations, with Class 11-Man North Quarterfinals and Class 8-Man State First Round printed across them the way a district label sits on an ordinary week. No county school is among them.
Creekside finished 5-0 in 6A District 1, first on its MaxPreps table, and ends the regular season on a streak the page marks 5 W.
Two county schools finished first in a district. What that buys them next is not printed on any board this paper reads tonight. When the pairings post, they run here.
Every score here was reported by FloridaHSFootball.com and every record by MaxPreps, and the two agree on all eight county schools. Nobody from this paper was at any of the games.
