Six of the eight public high schools in St. Johns County have a 2026-27 athletic calendar in the system their own athletics pages use. Every one of the 76 events on those six calendars is football.

Not one of the 27 games already played carries a score.

That is the state of the public record on this beat as of Wednesday morning, and it is why what follows is a schedule and not a scoreboard. We print scores we can source. We do not have a source for one.

Friday, Sept. 11

Three home games, all at 7 p.m., all district.

School Opponent Where
Nease Mandarin Home
Creekside Tocoi Creek Home, 100 Knights Lane, St. Johns
Beachside Ponte Vedra Home, 200 Great Barracuda Way, St. Johns

St. Augustine is at Middleburg. That comes from the Jackets’ own weekly schedule graphic, posted on the school’s athletics page for Sept. 7-13, and the graphic gives no kickoff time.

Bartram Trail and Menendez have nothing on their calendars for Friday. Bartram Trail’s next posted varsity game is Sept. 18 at Creekside. Menendez has no varsity date until Oct. 9.

Two of those three home games are also the away game for a county school, which means Ponte Vedra and Tocoi Creek fans are driving. Ponte Vedra’s own calendar does not list the trip. Neither does Tocoi Creek’s, because Tocoi Creek does not have one.

Thursday belongs to the JV

Ponte Vedra hosts Beachside at the Shark Tank, 460 Davis Park Rd., with games at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Two games, same night, same two schools. Beachside’s calendar lists only the 7:30.

Schools here field more than one JV squad. St. Augustine’s weekly graphic names two of the Jackets’ by color: JV Football Gold is at Clay on Thursday, JV Football Maroon plays Bartram Trail. Creekside’s entry for an August JV game carries the note “This is the JV Black Team.”

Nobody covers these. Every one of them is a full roster of kids playing a full game.

The one school with anything but football posted

Nease runs its own site, and its schedule feed carries the rest of the athletic department.

  • Wednesday, 4 p.m., girls golf at Bartram Trail
  • Thursday, 7 p.m., girls volleyball at Menendez
  • Thursday, time TBA, boys golf at Christ’s Church Academy
  • Saturday, time TBA, boys and girls cross country, away
  • Tuesday, Sept. 15, 7 p.m., girls volleyball home against Ridgeview

Sixteen volleyball, golf, cross country and swimming dates between Wednesday and Sept. 19, from one school. The other seven schools’ calendars carry none, and that is not because those teams are not playing.

Two blank calendars

St. Augustine’s athletics page has a calendar tab. Ask it for the 2026-27 school year and it returns nothing. Ask it for 2025-26 and it returns 403 events.

Tocoi Creek’s athletic calendar page is a heading and a street address. Ask the same system for the Toros’ 2026-27 year and it returns nothing. Ask for 2025-26 and it returns 526 events.

Both schools used the system last year. Neither has this year’s season in it.

For St. Augustine, the workaround is the weekly graphic on the athletics home page, which is current and legible and tells you where the Jackets are Friday. For Tocoi Creek, the county’s best available answer this week is somebody else’s calendar: the Toros appear on Creekside’s, as the visitors, at 7 p.m.

What is not in any of it

The system that six of these schools use has fields for score, home score, opponent score, and result. All four are empty on all 27 completed games.

So the Tattler can tell you that Beachside opened Aug. 20 with two JV games at home against Ribault and Paxon, and that the varsity went to the Kennel the next night. It cannot tell you what happened at any of them.

That is a sourcing problem and we are working it. Until it is solved, this page runs schedules.

Times, sites and opponents above are as posted Wednesday, Sept. 9. High school football schedules move. Check the school before you drive.
