Voting today is free, and the one condition that may have changed on you is the place. “Some Election Day polling locations have changed since the 2024 election cycle,” the Supervisor of Elections wrote Saturday, and today you vote at your assigned polling place only. The lookup is the My Voter Status tool at votesjc.gov, or the office phone, 904-823-2238. Polls run 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 42 locations.

The ID condition: a current photo ID with your signature on it. The voter information card the office mailed you is not a valid form of identification. The release points to votesjc.gov for the list of what counts.

The mail ballot condition is the expensive one. A vote-by-mail ballot has to be received at the office, 4455 Avenue A, Suite 101, by 7 tonight, and it will not be accepted at a polling place. A ballot still on your desk at 6 is a drive to Avenue A, not to your precinct.

After the polls close, the bureau’s calendar lists five rooms with evening music and no cover printed for any of them. Jeremy Weinglass plays Michael’s from 6 to 9, Smokin’ Joe Schauer is at Ann O’Malley’s from 6 to 10, and Buddy Crump and Joshua “Tennessee” Worthy split Pierre’s Pub from 6 to 10. Damon Slaughter plays O.C. White’s from 6:30 to 9:30, and Ancient City Rock is at Tradewinds from 9 to 1. The calendar is an aggregator and asks you to verify with the room, so call before you make a long drive.

To Kill a Mockingbird plays the Limelight at 7:30 tonight, and the ticketing page labels it Terrific Tuesday. No price is printed beside the label. The run’s final performance is Sunday at 2, so tonight is one of the last chances, and the availability to check before you go is on the theater’s own ticketing page, not on the calendars that list it.
