Jacksonville 22, Cincinnati 17, at Paycor Stadium.

Cincinnati gained 437 yards. Jacksonville gained 323.

The quarters went 3, 10, 3, 6 for Jacksonville and 0, 3, 7, 7 for Cincinnati.

Burrow was 39 of 54 for 428 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions. Lawrence was 18 of 23 for 227, one and none.

So the losing quarterback threw for 201 more yards and attempted 31 more passes.

Little kicked from 55 in the first, 28 in the second and 54 in the third. Three kicks, nine points, and the shortest of them was 28 yards.

The game turned here: Lawrence found Thomas from 7 with 26 seconds left in the half, and Jacksonville went in at the break up 13-3 having scored on both of its last two possessions.

Gesicki caught a 15-yarder from Burrow in the third to make it 13-10.

Rodriguez ran in from 25 in the fourth. The two-point try failed. The scoring summary says so in two words, “pass failed,” and that is the difference between 23-17 and 22-17.

Burrow ran the last one in from a yard.

Tuten carried 17 times for 73, long of 20. Rodriguez carried 6 for 35.

Strange caught 7 for 95, long of 23. Higgins caught 11 for 157 for Cincinnati and nobody on either side had more. That is 62 past Strange.

Cincinnati’s two leading receivers caught 22 balls between them.

Total penalties, 13 to 11. Penalty yards, 125 to 108. Twenty-four flags, 233 yards.

Time of possession, 29:06 to 30:54. Jacksonville was flagged twice more, for seventeen more yards, and held the ball a minute and forty-eight seconds less.

The yardage says one thing and the scoreboard says another, and the team’s own page names what went between them: two interceptions of Burrow and two sacks of him.

Jacksonville is 3-1. Cincinnati is 2-2.
