St. Augustine 48, Middleburg 6. Nobody from here was at it.
That is FloridaHSFootball.com’s final, and it is the best Friday any county team had. The Yellow Jackets are 4-0. The same outlet ranks them ninth in the state.
Three more finals came off the same scoreboard.
Creekside 38, Tocoi Creek 17, a district game at Creekside High School Stadium. Creekside is 3-1. Tocoi Creek is 0-4.
Ponte Vedra 24, Beachside 7, district, at Barracuda Stadium. The Sharks are 1-3. Beachside is 2-1.
Mandarin 32, Nease 14 at Panther Stadium. Mandarin is 3-0. Nease is 1-3.
Menendez was on the outlet’s week 4 bye list.
Every record above is FloridaHSFootball’s, printed on its own scoreboard cards. Middleburg is 2-2 on the same card.
The game turned into an argument
Bartram Trail went to Fletcher at 6:30.
What happened after that depends on which outlet you read.
MaxPreps has a final. Its schedule page reads, in its own words, “On 9/11, the Bartram Trail varsity football team lost their away conference game against Fletcher (Neptune Beach, FL) by a score of 30-7.”
FloridaHSFootball has the same game at the same stadium at the same kickoff and no score at all. Its status field reads Weather Delay. Both team records sit unchanged on the card: Bartram Trail 3-0, Fletcher 2-1. Its live snapshot, generated at 8:36 Friday night, says the same thing and carries no update timestamp on that game.
So one outlet says the Bears lost and the other says the game never finished.
Here is the third source, and it is the school.
Bartram Trail’s own FHSAA calendar has no Sept. 11 game. It did not have one Thursday either. The varsity season on that calendar runs Bishop Kenny on Sept. 4 straight to Creekside on Sept. 18.
Bartram Trail is the one athletic office in this county that enters its own scores. It has entered three: 37-3 over Tocoi Creek on Aug. 21, 23-12 at Middleburg on Aug. 28, 27-24 over Bishop Kenny on Sept. 4.
It has not entered a fourth.
Two more county teams played and neither is on the schedule page
St. Joseph 12, Old Plank Christian 6 at Defenders Field, per FloridaHSFootball. St. Joseph is 2-2.
That is an SSAA eleven-man game, not FHSAA.
Florida Deaf and Blind lost 42-16 at City of Life Christian on Thursday, same source, SSAA eight-man. The record there is 0-2.
Neither school is a public high, so neither is on the county schedule page. Both keep turning up in the statewide scoreboard anyway.
Friday
Bartram Trail at Creekside, 7 p.m., is the one to get to.
Both schools carry it.
Evans at St. Augustine, 7, at H.L. ‘Foots’ Brumley Stadium. Bradford at Tocoi Creek, 7, at The Bullpen. Menendez at Matanzas, 7. Ponte Vedra at Fleming Island, 7. Beachside at Englewood, 6:30.
Nease has the night off.
Its next game is Sept. 23 at Oakleaf.
The full slate, with every game that only one source carries flagged on its face, is at the county football schedule.
The Tattler did not see any of these games. Every score here is another outlet’s reporting, attributed to it by name.
