The fourteen school board meetings that were missing from the district’s new agenda site are on it now, and that includes the meeting in September that set this year’s school tax rate.
Four days ago the site the district sends you to for a Board Agenda listed its 2026 meetings up to June 9 and then jumped to Oct. 6. Everything the board did in between was absent from it. That stretch held six workshops, three regular meetings and five special meetings, and not one of them appeared on the system the district’s own page points you to. Go to the same page today and all fourteen are there, carrying the titles the board gave them.
Here is what that means if you have been trying to read something. The July 23 special meeting on advertising the tentative budget is listed, and so is the July 30 first public hearing on the tentative millage and budget. The Sept. 10 final hearing is listed too, and the board’s own title for it is the final public hearing for the purpose of adopting the FY 2026-2027 millage and budget.
Both of the union contracts came back with them as well. The board approved the agreement with the St. Johns Education Association on Aug. 25 and the one with the St. Johns Educational Support Professional Association on Sept. 1. Those two set what the people who work in your kid’s school get paid.
How you can tell it was done in one go
The site numbers every meeting it holds, and those numbers are visible in the page itself. Each of the fourteen restored meetings carries a number between 566 and 579, running backwards by date from the June 23 workshop to the Sept. 22 one. Every meeting dated June 9 or earlier carries a number of 533 or below, which is where the original import from the old system stopped when the district switched over.
The Oct. 6 workshop is 564 and Tuesday’s regular meeting is 561. Both of those are lower than 566, and lower means earlier. So the two October meetings went into the system before the fourteen did, which puts the backfill some time after Oct. 6 and makes it one batch rather than fourteen separate additions.
The home page changed along with it. On Oct. 4 the only thing under Recent Meetings was a line reading BoardDocs Imported Meetings, dated Aug. 13. It was not a link and it did not open anything. That line is gone. Recent Meetings now shows the Oct. 6 workshop, which is a meeting that actually happened.
The minutes still stop in August
Minutes and agendas are different documents kept in different places, and that is the part that trips people up. The agenda and the backup under each item is what the board was handed. The minutes are what carried. The district posts its minutes as PDFs on the School Board page, and that list still ends at Aug. 25.
So the Sept. 10 meeting that adopted this year’s millage now has an agenda entry and still has no minutes PDF. The same goes for the Sept. 1 workshop, the Sept. 1 support staff contract, the Sept. 8 regular meeting, the Sept. 22 workshop and Monday’s Oct. 6 workshop. Minutes get approved at a later meeting before they are posted. That lag is ordinary and it is not a second gap.
The district’s Notice of Public Meetings page, which is where a parent would reasonably go to find out when the board sits, does not mention any of this. It did not say anything when the agenda link moved to the new site, and it says nothing now that the fourteen meetings have come back.
Tuesday
The next regular school board meeting is Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 4:30 p.m. It is the only meeting the site lists anywhere under Upcoming Meetings, and the agenda for it should appear there ahead of the night. Put it on the calendar.
The standing schedule the site prints is regular meetings on the second Tuesday at 4:30. Workshops are the first and fourth Tuesday at 9 a.m. The board can move either one.
