The School Board got a new agenda website some time in the last week, and this year’s budget meetings did not come with it.

Go to the district’s School Board page and the link marked Board Agenda now opens a site called Community by Diligent. A week ago the same link, on the same page, said Board Agenda (BoardDocs) and opened BoardDocs, which is where this board has kept its agendas and its backup material since 2015.

The new site carries most of those meetings but not all of them. Its list runs back to July 14, 2015, and in 2026 it carries Jan. 6, Jan. 13, Jan. 27, Feb. 3, Feb. 10, Feb. 24, Mar. 3, Mar. 10, Mar. 24, Apr. 7, Apr. 14, Apr. 28, May 5, May 12, May 26, June 2 and June 9. Then the list jumps straight to Tuesday’s workshop.

Here is what that means if you want to read something. The board met fourteen times between June 23 and Sept. 22. None of those fourteen is on the site the district now sends you to. The agenda for each one, and the backup material under each item, which is where the dollar figures and the staff recommendations live, is still in BoardDocs at go.boarddocs.com/fl/stjohns/Board.nsf/Public, and that address still works. Nothing on the district’s page points at it any more.

What is in the fourteen

Both hearings on the money. On July 23 the board held a special meeting to approve the advertisement of the tentative budget. On July 30 it held the first public hearing on adopting the 2026-2027 tentative millage and budget. On Sept. 10 it held the final one, which the board’s own title calls the final public hearing for the purpose of adopting the FY 2026-2027 millage and budget. That is the meeting that set this year’s school tax rate.

The two union contracts went through in the same stretch. The board approved the 2026-2027 collective bargaining agreement with the St. Johns Education Association on Aug. 25, and the one with the St. Johns Educational Support Professional Association on Sept. 1. The rest are six workshops and three regular meetings.

The minutes are a separate thing, and they stop earlier

Minutes are not agendas. The minutes say what carried. The agenda and the backup say what the board was handed before it voted, and they are two different documents kept in two different places.

The district publishes its minutes as PDFs on the same School Board page, and that list is in better shape. It carries twenty-seven for 2026, from Jan. 6 through Aug. 25. Count the fourteen against that list and five come up with no minutes posted: the Sept. 1 workshop, the Sept. 1 special meeting on the support staff contract, the Sept. 8 regular meeting, the Sept. 10 final budget hearing and the Sept. 22 workshop.

So for the meeting that adopted this year’s millage, there is no minutes PDF on the district’s page and no entry on the site its agenda link opens. There is a BoardDocs record, at an address the district has stopped printing.

Tuesday

The new site lists one upcoming meeting, a School Board workshop on Oct. 6. BoardDocs does not have it. The portal also prints the standing schedule, which is regular board meetings on the second Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. and workshops on the first and fourth Tuesday at 9 a.m., unless the board changes them.

Under Recent Meetings the new site shows a single entry. It is headed BoardDocs Imported Meetings and dated Aug. 13. It is not a link.

The district’s Notice of Public Meetings page has not changed in ten days and says nothing about any of this.
