The room to know about tonight is Cafe Eleven, 501 A1A Beach Boulevard, out at the beach. Jake Shimabukuro, the ukulele player who fills theaters, is on at 8. Seated show. All ages, under 18 with a parent.
The venue’s page does not print a ticket price, and tickets go through GloryDaysPresents.com. Under 21 pays a $5 fee at the door. Budget the five.
The clocks went back an hour at 2 a.m., which means the evening starts in the dark now, and a Sunday that already ran early runs earlier.
The bureau calendar lists 18 rows for today and not one of them prints a cover. The late shift, such as it is: Smokin’ Joe Schauer at Meehan’s Irish Pub, 6 to 10. Damon Slaughter at O.C. White’s, 6:30 to 9:30.
Before dark you can work a line from Bad Dog Mama at Old Coast Ales at 2, to Dewey Via Band at Dog Rose at 3:30, to Craig Smith at Bin 39 at 4, to ZaZa Flamenca upstairs at La Cocina at 5, and still make the beach room by 8.
Two rooms the bureau page skips tonight. Mill Top, 19 1/2 St. George Street, runs Nathan Allen from noon to 4 and Jon Q from 4:30 to 8:30, off the venue’s own page. Prohibition Kitchen has De Lions of Jah from 6 to 9 tonight, off the room’s own calendar feed rather than anybody’s roundup. You only find that one by reading the room’s calendar.
If the plan involves the ocean first: a High Surf Advisory and a Rip Current Statement run through 7 p.m. Monday on the county’s southeast coastal zone and Flagler’s coast. The water is the wrong part of the beach today.
The free STAR bus runs 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. tonight, so the early sets are reachable without a car, and the 8 o’clock show means arranging your own way home.
Next on the beach room’s calendar: Keith Harkin, Wednesday, Nov. 4, 8 p.m.
