Music and Art by the Sea finishes its year tonight at the St. Augustine Beach Pier Park, and it costs nothing to walk into. Jim Stafford and The Eclipse ALL STARS play 7 to 9. The listing says no tickets are required, and the recurrence line on the same page ends the 2026 run at Sept. 30.

The rest of the evening is on a clock. Local art goes up at the Art Studio at 3, pavilion seating opens at 4, a DJ plays from 5:30, and the food truck serves from 5 until 8 or until the food runs out, whichever comes first. The concerts are weather permitting, which the page says plainly.

The address is 350 A1A Beach Blvd, and getting to that address without keys is the part of this that costs something.

Getting there without a car

No Sunshine Bus stop is on A1A Beach Boulevard. East of the Bridge of Lions the Green Line carries two stops, Publix at Anastasia and A1A at SR-206, and neither of them is the pier. How far either one is from the pavilion is a question the timetable does not answer, because it names stops and not addresses.

The times it does give settle it anyway. The last inbound run of the day leaves A1A and SR-206 at 7:17 and reaches the depot at 7:40. The band starts at 7, so the last bus out of that end of the county goes seventeen minutes into the first set.

The fare is $2.00 one way, or $1.00 if you qualify for the discount, which covers students along with seniors, Medicare and Medicaid cardholders and people with disabilities. Fares are paid on boarding and the driver cannot make change, so bring it exact. A daily pass is $4.00, or $2.00 discounted. A monthly is $30.00, or $15.00, and it is bought in person at the transit office on Old Moultrie Road.

There is a route deviation service, and the terms are worth knowing before you need them. The bus will come up to a quarter mile off route with 24 hours notice for a flat $4.00, which is not discounted and does not include your fare.

The STAR Circulator is free and tonight it is downtown only. It runs 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, three stops on a 1.12 mile loop that takes about 15 minutes, and the last departure from the Visitor Information Center is at 10 p.m. Riders get one complete circuit and have to get off to reboard.

That changes tomorrow, and it is the answer to everything above. The city announced on Sept. 25 that from Thursday, Oct. 1 the same free shuttle adds fifteen stops along Anastasia Boulevard and A1A Beach Boulevard, and runs 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. That is a free ride to the beach and back at 11 on a Saturday night.

The department page has not caught up. As of this morning it still prints the three downtown stops and the 10 to 10 hours, under a heading saying a new route is “coming in October 2026,” with no stop list under it. The fifteen stops have not been published anywhere yet.

What is on downtown tonight

The Children’s Hour, the Lillian Hellman play, opens at Lewis Auditorium at 7:30 and runs Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 with a Sunday matinee at 2. General admission is $20.00 and a student who is not at Flagler pays $5.00. A Flagler student, staff member or faculty member gets in free, and faculty and staff can bring immediate family at no charge.

The St. Augustine Film Society screens One to One: John and Yoko at The Waterworks, 184 San Marco Avenue, doors at 5:30 and film at 6. It is $10.00 if you are not a member and free if you are.

Milltop Tavern has Nathan Allen from 4:30 to 8:30, after Jim Lamb from noon. The venue’s calendar publishes no cover for either.

The Crisp-Ellert Art Museum at 48 Sevilla Street is free and is showing Nicole Antebi’s Rebel Waters / Aguas Rebeldes through Nov. 7, but it closes at 4 on a weekday, so that one is a daytime plan and not a tonight plan.

What is left after tonight

The Wednesday Pier Farmers Market runs at that same Pier Park address from 8 a.m. to noon, free to walk through, and it is there every Wednesday rather than only this one. From November it runs an hour longer, to 1 p.m.

The Children’s Hour is the thing still on sale after tonight. It has four more performances and the $5.00 student price holds for all of them, through Sunday afternoon.
