Four rooms tonight. One publishes a real price list.
Twenty-seven items. A number beside each one.
It is also shut on Mondays.
DJ’s Clam Shack, 21 Hypolita Street. The hours line reads Tues - Sun 11AM - 9PM.
So it is out tonight. Keep it for the other six nights.
Chowder is $9. The hot dog is $10. So is the Key West salad.
Fries are $5. Onion rings $8. Sweet potato fries $7. Slaw $3. Garlic bread $4.
That is the twelve dollar rule, if you order sideways.
Everything else on that menu runs from $15 up to $19.
The Ipswich fried clams are $38.
The two lobster rolls just say MP. They tell you at the counter. So ask first.
I like that their page says this out loud: “All prices subject to change without notice. Prices will vary per location due to market conditions.”
Tonight, then
A1A Asian Kitchen is at 6975 A1A South.
It opens at 11 and it closes at 9. Trivia runs 7 to 8:30.
Happy hour is 2 to 6. Four hours of it. No number on any of it.
The page says “great drink specials” and then it stops.
Nine is the number to plan for, because that is when the kitchen goes.
Now Tuesday, because that page says four things about it.
The banner up top: “Live Music Tue-Sat 5:30 PM.”
The notice under it: “We are now temporarily closed on Tuesdays until further notice.” The next line: “To celebrate, join us on Tuesdays for a free spring roll appetizer! Purchase two entrees and enjoy this classic Asian dish!”
And then the hours table says Tuesday, 11 to 9.
So: closed. Open until nine. Live music at 5:30. Free spring roll. Take your pick.
One page, four answers. I would call first. The number is on it.
Prohibition Kitchen is out for four nights
Its own calendar says so, and it is a subscribable feed, which almost no room here bothers with. Tonight at 6 it reads “Closed for a Private Event.”
Then Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are all-day entries. All three read “Closed For Cleaning,” twice with a capital F and once without.
It comes back on Friday night with two acts on it.
The House Cats at 6, Paper City Hustlers at 10.
Saturday is The Collective at 6 and Mandalla at 10.
Then Micah and Skyler Sunday, Sam Pacetti Monday, Jim Johnston Tuesday, all of them at 6.
No cover in the feed for any of them.
What else is on tonight
Mill Top Tavern has Jim Lamb at midday and Josh Tennessee Worthy at 4:30. Those are the same two slots it runs every day of the week.
Nathan Allen and Jon Q have them Tuesday.
Colonial Oak has nothing at all until Thursday, when The Expendables play and the listing puts the word Ticketed right in the title. After that it is Highway to Hell’s Bells on Friday, MedalMillitia Saturday. The Colonial Oak Rock Take Over Sunday.
The cost field is blank on all four of those.
I have not eaten at any of these. All of it is off their own pages, read early this morning. Here is the order. Get to A1A South by 6, while the happy hour is still on, and stay for trivia at 7.
Two entrees puts you over twelve, so split one.
Wednesday, go to Hypolita Street instead.
Two chowders and a fries is $23 for two people, before tax. That is the whole beat.
