I read the websites of 29 restaurants and bars in St. Augustine and at the beach, then out toward Nocatee and Julington Creek.

I was looking for one number. When does the kitchen stop.

One of them prints it.

That is Meehan’s, 20 Avenida Menendez.

The front page has an hours block. It says Friday and Saturday run 11 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Directly under that, on its own line, it says the kitchen goes until 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Two and a half hours of bar. After the last plate.

Walk in at 11:15 on a Friday. You are drinking, not eating.

Everywhere else, the closing time on the page is the door, not the stove.

Nineteen of the 29 gave me hours I could read. Four gave me item prices.

One told me when the cooking ends.

The twelve-dollar rule cannot help you at 11 p.m. if you do not know who is still cooking.

What the pages say is open past 10 on a Friday

Odd Birds Cocktail Lounge and Kitchen, 200 Anastasia Blvd. Friday and Saturday, noon to 2 a.m.

Their hours block carries its own asterisk. “Closing time subject to change based on business.”

No kitchen close published.

Barley Republic, 48 Spanish Street. Their menu page says Monday through Friday, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., and weekends from 11 a.m.

The kitchen is not addressed anywhere I could find. Again, that is the room.

Prohibition Kitchen, 119 St. George Street. This one publishes a late menu by name.

The footer prints dinner hours of 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Sunday.

Then a second line: a late night menu, Friday and Saturday, 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Best late answer on the list.

Mill Top Tavern, 19 1/2 St. George Street. Friday and Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to midnight.

Sunday through Thursday it is 9 p.m.

Salt Life Food Shack, 321 A1A Beach Boulevard. Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

That is the beach answer.

The page those hours sit on carries a last-edited stamp of Nov. 4, 2025. Ten months. Call.

Casa de Vino 57, 57 Treasury Street. Friday and Saturday until 10:30 p.m.

Closed Monday and Tuesday entirely.

What twelve dollars buys

Four of the 29 got me to an item price. Here is everything at or under twelve on all four of them.

Odd Birds. Grilled zucchini 8, yuca frita 8. French fries 8, sweet plantains 8. Beignets 9.

The next item up is empanadas at 13.

Everything else on the food menu is 13 or more, to 55 for the parilla for two.

So the under-twelve menu here is the side dishes. The room says it is open until 2 a.m.

Barley Republic. Roasted brussel sprouts 11, country fried pickle bites 11. Curry pub fries 11, chopped caesar 12. Deep fried oreos 9.

Their menu page was last edited April 20.

Prohibition Kitchen. Boiled peanuts 7, skin-on fries 7, pork rinds 8. Crispy brussel sprouts 10, fried pickles 12.

A cup of beer cheese soup is 4. A bowl is 7.

Every side on the list is 7.

Now the catch. Those numbers are not on the menu page at pkstaug.com, which prints every dish and no prices at all.

They are on the venue’s own online ordering menu.

That ordering page publishes a schedule of its own: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., every day from Sept. 11 through Sept. 17.

The prices I can show you stop an hour before the dinner menu does and four hours before the late menu ends.

What the 10 p.m. menu costs, I have no document for. So I am not printing one.

Salt Life Food Shack. Queso 11.99 is the only plate under twelve, outside the sides and the children’s list. Their own page labels that list ages 10 and under.

Shack fries 4.99, side salad 5.99, six other sides at 4.49.

That menu page was last edited June 17.

Nocatee and Julington Creek shut early

Nothing I could find out there serves past 10 p.m. on a Friday.

Chophouse at Nocatee, 330 Pine Lake Drive, closes at 9 on a Friday and 8 on a Sunday.

Their happy-hour page publishes no hours at all.

The home page does. It was last edited Aug. 28.

The hours are current even where the deals page is months behind it.

South Kitchen and Spirits, 150 Pine Lake Drive Suite A. Runs to 10 on Friday and Saturday.

Then 9 the rest of the week.

Pusser’s Bar and Grille, 816 A1A N Suite 100 in Ponte Vedra Beach. Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Cantina Louie at 465 State Road 13 in St. Johns closes at 10 Tuesday through Saturday.

The Loop, at both its Julington Creek and Nocatee addresses, prints 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day of the week.

If your shift out there ends at 10, the record says you are driving somewhere else.

Downtown is earlier than you think

Kingfish Grill, 504 West Geoffery Street, moved to seasonal hours Aug. 24.

Friday and Saturday 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., closed Tuesdays.

Colonial Oak Music Park, 21 St George Street. Open daily, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Saint Augustine Seafood Co. at 33 St George, listed on the same page, runs Thursday through Saturday, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday noon to 7.

La Cocina at The Cellar Upstairs, 157 King Street. Dinner Wednesday through Sunday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The rooftop menu runs from 11 a.m.

The Reef, 4100 Coastal Highway. Friday and Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Its footer copyright line reads 2020 to 2022. That is the only date anywhere on the site.

The Original Cafe Eleven, 501 A1A Beach Boulevard, prints two different numbers.

The hours block says 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Sunday, with an asterisk reading “later if there’s a music concert or live show.”

The front page says lunch and dinner are available 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.

Both live on the same site, and they book shows constantly, so the asterisk is doing real work.

What I could not get

Ten of the 29 gave me no hours in any form I could read.

Beachcomber’s site would not open, so the beach page carrying their food specials could not be read.

Meehan’s posts its menus as photographs of menus. So I can tell you precisely when their kitchen closes and nothing whatsoever about what it charges.

I have not eaten at any of these. Every time and every price above came off the venue’s own page.

The order

Odd Birds, after eleven, on the grounds that nothing else on this list is both open and priced.

Yuca frita is 8 and the plantains are 8. Sixteen dollars for two of you.

Their own page says the closing time moves. Call from the sidewalk.

Earlier than that, Barley Republic at 5:45. Curry pub fries at 11.
